Tsukiji Kiyomura Sushi-Zanmai Higashi Shinjuku-ten

Very fresh, very professional sushi chef. The chef make the sushi right in front of your eyes. Ingredients are so fresh, thus it made the sushi taste so good. Price wise is fair. Personally think it's not expensive but fit for what it serve you. This place is also not that crowded compare to central Shinjuku area. I would recommend for those who wish to try sushi experience in Tokyo but don't want to go for sushi belt restaurant.

This place is amazing. The freshest of fish, and the rice is cooked to perfection. I could go here day after day, but to get your fill, it is a bit pricey! Expect to pay about $30 per person with your drink. Fast and courteous service, they handle the constant stream of customers well. I recommend the red tuna, the shrimp, and any of the special rolls (California, Salmon, etc.). Truly high quality!

The best sushi i've ever taste :") I usually not eat salmon. But here, I taste salmon and it's very yummy. The fishes are so fresh. I hope I can visit this place again.

Great sushi, had to sit downstairs in the smoking area as it was full upstairs although almost nobody smoked luckily. Total for a not-huge dinner for 2 with sake came to 5300 yen

This a chain that is open 24/7, the sushi is not worth the price. The service is slow, I had to ask for wasabi a few times because sushi did not come with it. The fish seems fresh, but for the price I have had better sushi.

I was in Tokyo for 10 nights and 9 of them I got sushi here. The staff is very very kind and even though I ordered Takeaway most of the time they still gave me the little hand towel and a drink. Their English is limited but that was totally fine because we still understood each other somehow and could even hold a small conversation. The sushi was great, with the right amount of wasabi in it. My boyfriend even tried their fried puffer fish (he is normally quite picky but he ate it all and that really means something). I totally recommend this restaurant, they have great prices, great sushi and great staff!

Sorry was so busy eating (at 5 am) I forgot to take pics. But started with the miso, pretty good, the regular nigiri sushi, only ok might have taken off a star but then had the grilled miso cod, melted in the mouth, Toro, which poured like water down the throat, and anago (sea eel), which exploded the taste buds. Forget the set meals and platters, order individually and if you have the monetary fortitude, omakase (chefs choice). Yes it's a chain store but this one is rated highest of them on Google and Yelp.

For the price and the delicious sushi, explain why people will go back and eat repeatedly.

This place is very good and the quality of fish is excellent. But be warned, this place is a bit pricy. I wasn’t expecting to pay 6,000 yen for me and my wife. We did order a lot in retrospect, and it was all very very delicious. I think next time we will be much more cognizant of how much we ordering next.

Good sushi, not too expensive, english speaking waiter, very friendly

The sushi was a love affair of quality, freshness and flavor from the start. We had read the prior reviews and marked the restaurant to try and were more than happy that we did. Good food, our waitress was sweet, patient and spoke English. One otoshi (the house appetizer that follows the order of an alcoholic drink for the small cost of 300-600 yen) was brought out for one of us, as he had ordered a beer and I had ordered green tea. Our waitress had been kind enough to also make us aware of this upon ordering. The only little criticism would be a lack of atmosphere, but even that held little sway when the food and service were excellent. We would go there again.

Ate 4 times out of the 7 nights we were here. It’s that good. Very reasonable price for the quality. Could not recommend this place more. ❣️

Really great sushi chain in Tokyo. This Western-friendly sushi joint is relatively reasonably priced, and the service is excellent! I’ve travelled to Tokyo twice, and I’ve been to this restaurant at least five times. Highly recommended.

Easily the best sushi I've had so far. You can tell the ingredients are quality after the first bite. Staff was really friendly and even gave some recommendations. Would eat here again anytime!

Sushi zanmai.. it's a famous chain.. they aren't known for the least expensive sushi but the quality.. the quality of the Shinjuku store is probably the best of the chain

I love sushi zanmai!! I entered this store at 12pm on Saturday. And all the seats were full soon. I always ordered that one piece of uni and tuna set! Never failed at every sushizanmai store! 👏

Very friendly, helpful staff, I'd highlight the sushi chef, who made my day with the dishes. They speak good English and help you how to eat the food properly, not like many other places.The food is delicious and still budget friendly. Definitely a keeper, I will visit them again. Actually tomorrow. One good advice: it's a popular place, so if you go there in the busy hours, you may need to wait. Still worth it but keep in mind.

Fair price and food is good.

I thought this place was okay only. Interesting to see the Chef prepare the sushi on the spot. Ordered 1 set of sushi and came 2 due to miscommunication, but we just quietly ate it. When requested to do a take away the Chef refused. Said food ordered for dine in have to be dine in. Not flexible at all.

Good choice of sushi and nice lunch sets. Quite wide selection of drinks and professional atmosphere. Slightly expensive if compared to really local sushi houses, but overall good experience.

Foreigner friendly, they do have English menu, the sushi is pretty good, you can tell it is fresh and served in room temperature which how sushi should be served. The chicken karaage is not really recommend because of the price, the taste is good. Not a cheap place to be for sushi, but it won't let you down. 2 person for 10,000yen.

This place has some really fresh salmon and tuna belly, I've tried Sushidai at Tsukiji Market among various other sushi restaurants and this place has to be my favourite so far. They open quite late and can be pricey depending on your budget, you do get what you pay for and it's worth a try!

Delicious experience. This place is open 24h. We arrived late at our hotel and according to Foursquare this was the best sushi around Shinjuku. They delivered great sushi. The fatty tuna is out of this world.

The sushi here is is really fresh, delicious and also prepared beautifully. You can watch the sushi chefs prepare your order. They deliver the sushi on black plates to your table. The service staff is also really friendly. Price is around middle class. Would definitely recommend. いただきます！

High quality, excellently crafter and fresh sushi on offer here. Language no barrier and has menus in English as well as Japanese and many other languages. Staff extremely friendly and sushi chefs engaging and keen to keep you stocked up with their creations. If you can bag a seat at the counter - jump at it!

Very fresh and natural flavors. No seasoning added, you can taste the genuine in it.

Excellent, fresh sushi, all made to order along with some hot dishes too. Even though the interior looks faded and old (think 80s lavatory) the location is comfy. My favourite was the fatty tuna. While it's not cheap, it's excellent value for sushi.

Excellent Sushi restaurant in the Shinjuku area. The sushi is made to order and are is reasonably priced. Try the eel!
